Adil Cybwerworks operates myschoolzone.co.ke and the MySchoolZone mobile app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information we collect

Account & Profile Information

When users register or sign up to use interactive features (for example to like, comment, or post), we collect:

• Full name (name displayed on profile)
• Role selection (student, alumni, parent, teacher, support staff)
• School selection (county → subcounty → school; this is a selection you make and we do not treat it as GPS/location data)
• Optional profile fields you choose to provide

Content & Activity

We store content you post (for example articles, comments), like counts, and basic usage metadata (timestamps of actions).

Device & Technical Information

When you use the mobile app or website we may collect non-personal technical data such as browser or device type, OS version, IP address, and approximate regional information (inferred from your selected school or server-side logs). We do not treat school selection as precise location data.

Push Notifications

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications. Firebase may process unique device tokens required to deliver messages. Firebase's use of data is governed by Google/Firebase policies — we recommend reviewing Firebase's privacy terms if you want details.

Ads and Analytics

We plan to show ads in the app and on the site. Ads will be delivered via ad networks (for the website: AdSense; for in-app ads: AdMob or similar). Ads and analytics may use cookies and similar technologies; third-party ad providers may collect information about your activity across sites and apps to provide interest-based advertising.

How we use your information

• To provide and maintain the Service and app functionality (account management, posting, liking, commenting).
• To moderate content and enforce terms — only admins may publish content; normal users can like/comment subject to login.
• To send notifications (manual broadcasts and automatic notifications when new content is published).
• To analyze usage and improve the Service.
• To comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms of use.

Data storage & retention

User data (profile details, posts, comments) is stored on our servers. We retain data as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes. If you request deletion, administrators will process the request and remove or anonymize your data as appropriate (see "How to request deletion" below).

User controls & deletion

Currently users cannot delete their accounts directly from the app or website. However, if you want your account and data removed, please contact us via the site contact form and provide:

• Your account email or username
• A short request explaining which data to delete

Admins will manually review and process deletion requests. We aim to respond to requests within a reasonable timeframe and retain logs as required by law or for fraud prevention.

Who can access or manage data

Only authorized administrators and system superadmins can manage and publish content. Posting articles requires admin privileges; regular users may register and interact (likes, comments) but cannot publish directly.

Third-party services

We may use third-party services for hosting, analytics, push notifications, and ads. These services may collect and process data per their own policies:

• Firebase (Cloud Messaging) — for push notifications
• Google AdSense / AdMob — for ads (when enabled)
• Other analytics or hosting providers as used by the site

We do not control third-party privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies for details.

Cookies & similar technologies

The site uses cookies and similar technologies for session management, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookie settings in your browser. Cookies required for core functionality cannot be disabled without affecting the Service.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect user information using industry-standard security practices. However, no system is completely secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to our servers.

Children

Our Service is not intended for children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes indicates acceptance.
